Pastoral Care Ministry
Contact: Lorraine Swaile
A Lay Pastor is an individual who, in addition to
the minister and elders,
provides personal pastoral care to members
of our congregation who are in need of encouragement.
Among the
people in need are the elderly, the sick and the shut-ins.
Lay
Pastors are members of the congregation who have taken training in
pastoral care and
have agreed to serve as pastoral care-givers to
members of the congregation through monthly contacts.
This program
keeps lay pastors and the minister aware of the concerns and health
issues that may be happening in the lives of those who are in need
of friendship, support, or acknowledgement.
Ladies morning coffee group
This group enjoys fellowship while creating crafts to raise funds
for various church activities
and projects.
Some of these projects
included making visits to shut-ins, jam making, blanket and
dishcloth knitting, and a plant and hanging basket sale.
They made
a contribution of $500 for new tables for the church hall and
produced ten
knitted blankets for Fraserview, the hospice and

Dinner groups.
Three groups meet several times a year for dinner and
fellowship in the homes of the members. Members provide the food.
There is a rotation from home to home over the year.
It is a good
way to get to know people in the church.
Board of
Managers.
Board members are elected at the Annual Congregation Meeting
with each member serving
a three-year term.
The Board is
responsible for the physical and financial affairs of the
church.
The Board and Session work closely together on many
issues to ensure the congregation’s
needs are met
Library
Librarian: Judy McIntosh
Don’t forget the church library! Judy has done a wonderful
job stocking the library shelves with
books and videos.
If
there is something you need, just give her a call. Next time
you pass by,
stop and take another look – there is always
something new!
Choir Director: Graeme Stager
The Senior Choir, under Graeme’s excellent direction, leads
the congregation in hymns
and the music portion of Sunday
worship.
Choir members share a love of music and a desire to
sing and participate in Sunday worship.
New members are
always welcome – just give Graeme a call, or better yet,
leave him a singing phone message!
